Farm Friend Vashon is a volunteer-coordination service that uses SMS to connect volunteers with small farms on Vashon Island, Washington. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how we handle it.

What we collect

• Your mobile phone number.
• The content of SMS messages you send to or receive from us, retained for up to 90 days for operational and support purposes.
• Records of which shifts or pickups you claimed or muted, kept for as long as you remain a participant in the program.

How we use your information

• To send you operational SMS about volunteer shifts and surplus pickups you opted into.
• To confirm claims and check in after events.
• To improve the service's reliability and respond to your support requests.

What we do not do

Your mobile information will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. We do not run advertising. We do not share your phone number with farmers or other volunteers without your explicit consent.

Service providers

We use Telnyx (SMS delivery), Google Firebase (data storage and authentication), and Anthropic (language-model interpretation of inbound messages). These vendors process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.

Opting out

Reply STOP to any Farm Friend Vashon message at any time and we will stop sending you messages immediately. You may also reply HELP for service information.
